Where Tradition Meets Innovation

OKO was born from the shared vision of FAM Hospitality and Trinity Concepts, blending Filipino and Southeast Asian culinary traditions with Austin’s energy. Led by Chef Harold Villarosa and FAM co-founder Paul Qui, OKO redefines Austin’s dining scene with a menu celebrating the Filipino diaspora and the rich, diverse flavors of Southeast Asia.

Our Name: OKO

Inspired by “oko’a,” a Hawaiian term meaning “different,” OKO is about standing out and honoring diversity. We bring together people, flavors, and stories, creating a place for Austinites to explore Southeast Asian culture through food and drink. Each dish and cocktail tells a story, blending tradition with Texas flair, from the curated Kinilawin bar to street food skewers and locally inspired flavors.

CHEF HAROLD VILLAROSA

Born in the Philippines and raised in the Bronx, Chef Villarosa infuses his heritage with expertise gained in top kitchens worldwide, including Michelin-starred Aureole and Aquavit in New York, and a formative time at Noma. His mission is to celebrate Filipino flavors while exploring Southeast Asian traditions, creating dishes that are both authentic and inventive.

CHEF PAUL QUI

James Beard Award-winning chef and FAM Hospitality co-founder, Paul Qui brings his acclaimed talent and imagination to OKO. Known for his work at East Side King, Thai Kun, and Koko Ni, Qui crafts a menu at OKO that melds Asian influences with a Texas twist. His commitment to vibrant, culture-rich dishes is at the heart of OKO’s distinctive fusion experience.

Austin's newest Southeast Asian emporium celebrates Filipino cuisine with Texas ingredients.
